A Nyonya Pre-Wedding . Henry + Heidi

I would like to extend my huge thanks to Henry and Heidi for being such a good sport that day. The couple flew all the way in from Singapore for the shoot and back the next day. We really had such a good time that it didn’t really feels like work at all. We laughed, eat, photographed and laughed some more. Hope you guys had enjoyed the session as much as I do. I’m really glad to be posting again and my apology to be away for so …long ! The New Year has been nothing but busy. I was in Auckland for a wedding shoot in early January and followed by my holidays in South Island and Melbourne for the following two weeks. It’s really an awesome trip and I can’t waite to share the photos with you guys soon !

Hong Tee and Iris is indeed a lovely couple and I am really glad to have known them. I enjoyed every single meet up with them and it’s so much fun yakking away over some coffee. I would like to thank you guys for all your help and it’s been great working with you all. Take care and best wishes always !

Woot ….how time flies when you are enjoying yourself. It’s hard to believe that 2009 is coming to and end so soon. Therefore I promise myself to upload one last set of photos before the year ends.

I am sadden by the news that the Carcosa Sri Negara will be closing down officially starting new year due to some changes in management. The entire place will be refurbished and god knows when it will be open up for public again. It’s one wonderful place in KL which I really enjoy shooting.

Just to share with you all a series of shots taken here time in the mid of 2009. . I would like to extend my thanks to Kenny and Christine as well as my buddy Adam Ong once again for having me that day. Was a great pleasure shooting for you guys. Yes not denying….I have been on a shopping spree lately. Swiping that credit card of mine does take away some stress though it may seem momentarily but retail therapy certainly does help.

I have been drooling over a mac for a year now and finding every possible chance to pop into the Machine Store every time I pass by it. Only till last two weeks that I finally took the plunge to convert from pc to mac. Woot the screen on this baby is amazingly huge and sharp. I swear I have never seen my photos looking that nice and detailed before! The new iMac also comes with a sleek wireless magic mouse and wireless keyboard which I find such an ease to use. Been using it for a week now I’m still smiling ear to ear every time I switched it on…..as long as I don’t check my bank account statement :p

New Addition To The Family

Boy can’t begin to tell how glad I am that the waite is finally over!! I am really glad that I finally took to plunge for a D700 early this month. It is no mistake for the pluge despite the heafty 8k price tag as this camera handles like a dream and the ISO performance is simply amazing. I could easily dial up to ISO 4000 without second thought and the images turns out absolutely perfect.

I plan to pair the D700 with my favorite 50mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.8 prime lenses and 70-200mm f2.8 VR while I keep my D300 purely for my 12-24mm f4 and 17-55mm f2.8 wide angle zoom as well flash photography. I personally feel it’s a good combo BUT shooting with two bodies on a full day wedding reception is certainly not an easy task. However my shoulder and back aches are minimal trade off for the moments of joy I’ll be able to capture.

I can’t wait for my next assignment and put this camera into some serious test again. Till then stay tuned for more pics from Mun Keat Photography.

The past couple of weeks have been nothing but mad. Shooting weddings back to back on both consecutive weekends with just 5 hours of sleep is certainly not easy especially when you have a mundane 9 to 5 day job to take care off. Kind of scares me at times when I look back that I have been living my life in such a way for the past one year. I guess when you enjoy your work, nothing else really matters anymore : )

I had such a great time covering the wedding for Charles and Sherri not too long ago. Everything about this wedding just spells fun! fun! fun! Thank you guys and best wishes to you both! Cheers!

Wedding in the Philippines ..

Hey guys! Glad to be posting again. Many thanks to my buddy Ian for constantly reminding me to update my blog today! It has been a while since my last update. Hopefully I could keep the momentum to update my blog on a weekly basis.

Well, I would like to share this series of shots taken during my trip to the Philippines not too long ago. It’s certainly a dream come true to have the privilege to shoot with the MangoRed crew as well as Adam Ong during my stay over there. It’s certainly an eye opening and fun filled experience to cover a wedding in Manila. Hopefully there will be more in the future as I love travelling and experiencing different cultures, languages and of course FOOD!

I would also like to take this great opportunity again to thank the lovely couple as well as Randall and his team for their warm welcome and hospitability. Been great pleasure meeting you all and best wishes.
